NE Alberta ADU

New conditions have emerged in our economy that require us to redefine our homes in certain instances.  Due in part to rising healthcare costs and the lack of affordable housing units, new types of dwellings are needed to address these issues.

ADU's (accessory dwelling units or granny flats) has emerged to solve some of these issues.  Although these units can be small, they can be designed with innovative and efficient floor plans and along with the careful placement of windows, the resulting designs can make the dwelling units feel much larger than they actually are.  Designing with "universal design" principles can also allow solutions that address multi-generational living, disabilities, senior living / aging-in-place needs.
